Patrick Eakin Young

Patrick Eakin Young is a Canadian-born director, designer, and dramaturg based in London. As the Artistic Director of ERRATICA, he created a series of music-driven performances and installations between 2007–2019. His productions have been presented in New York, Johannesburg, Toronto, Edinburgh and London.

He has collaborated with British and international artists including artist Gavin Turk; composers Philip Venables, Christian Mason, Laura Bowler, Chris Mayo, and Thomas Smetryns; choreographers Jamila Johnson-Small and John Heginbotham; and lighting designers Burke Brown and Lee Curran.

His projects have been presented by The Print Room Theatre, The Spitalfields Music Festival, The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the Metropolitan Museum, New York, Euro-scene Festival, Leipzig, Operadagen Festival, Rotterdam, and the Malta Festival, Malta.

Patrick is also an associate dramaturg at the Royal Opera House London, specialising in the creation of new work. He has held observerships at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Royal Opera House, London, and has worked with the artist William Kentridge on various opera projects.
